About Andrew Warren
Andrew Warren is an expert in climate resilience, adaptation and integrated planning at Deltares with over 15 years’ experience in the water sector. Andrew primarily develops and applies Decision-Making under Deep Uncertainty methodologies to incorporate long-term uncertainties into strategic planning processes across diverse problem domains including water supply and sanitation, water resources management, flood risk management, and urban water management. A particular focus of his present work is collaborating with water utilities to develop climate resilience and adaptation plans for long-term sustainable service delivery. He is also interested in the development and deployment of appropriate methods and tools to interactively engage stakeholders within planning processes, via serious gaming and other collaborative modelling techniques.
An experienced project manager, facilitator and trainer, Andrew has led teams of diverse researchers and practitioners in the development, delivery and transfer of knowledge products across a variety of international settings in both high-income and emerging economies. He has worked with a diverse range of clients and partners, including the World Bank, Asia Development Bank, European Commission, and bilateral agencies. Andrew holds a MSc in Water Resources Management (cum laude) from TU Delft in the Netherlands, and both a BE and BA from the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Andrew is a member of Deltares’ regional team for Asia, with a particular focus on Australia and New Zealand.
