About Annemargreet de Leeuw
Annemargreet de Leeuw is a program manager at Deltares and specialized in disaster risk management. She currently leads Deltares'research program on infrastructure systems. This research program focuses on 1) resilient infrastructure (infrastructure that is reliably operational, despite impacts of natural hazards, now and in future) and 2) integrated solutions for infrastructure systems, embracing the complexity of changing societal demands, linking of networks and multi-modal use, providing circular and green solutions. Before this, she led the 5-year, 22 million Euro program on the development and implementation of legal levee assessment tools. With these tools the flood defense managers assess their flood defenses every six years, and report about their state to Parliament. She has experience in leading teams as department head. For 12 years she has guided teams of excellent experts, she has set out the strategy for the Flood Risk Management department and to performed daily management of the portfolio. The experts in the department have a variety of excellent knowledge on, amongst others: a) statistical regional analysis of weather, b) probabilistic analysis of hazards (sea level, river discharge, rainfall, groundwater) c) impact analysis, d) robustness and resilience analysis, e) climate change.
