“Working together towards an innovative ecosystem of Digital Facilities to support society”

“My dream is that Digital Facilities will become a healthy portfolio supporting all our moonshots and serving our most important clients. We have great innovations and tools, but to make an impact with them, more structure is needed. To achieve this, I will work intensively with the other MT colleagues, for example to see how we work with customers or how we can improve our own processes. Do you have ideas? Then let them be heard, because we have to make it happen together.”

Hans’ career has always been in the field of numerical scientific models and software. Starting as a scientific software engineer, he has focused on leading both software development and market departments within Deltares in recent years via roles as project and quality assurance manager of software development projects. In addition, Hans has contributed to the digital transformation of Deltares: he is one of the initiators of product-oriented work within Deltares and has also focused on how Deltares can effectively co-create with partners and customers on digital innovations. In his role as portfolio holder for Digital Facilities, he wants to focus on themes such as innovation management and co-creation within the digital playing field of Deltares, in addition to further professionalizing the processes surrounding the various products.

Successes: Development of Delft3D-GT with Equinor, a great innovation developed together with multiple departments and the TU Delft, which is still operational today.

WBI2017, turning a good crisis into a success, together with a highly motivated team and great leadership.

What is important to me is quality time with my family, being active and competitive.
