About Felipe Garcia Grez
Felipe García Grez is an Advisor at Deltares, working in the Inland Water Systems Unit. He studied civil engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) and obtained his MSc degree in Water Management (Cum Laude) at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft).
Felipe is a generalist with expertise ranging from technical skills in hydrological and groundwater modeling, GIS, hydraulics, and infrastructure design to more policy-oriented skills such as cost-benefit analysis, stakeholder engagement, and project management. His experience includes a long list of projects in the private sector as well as influential years in the public water sector in Chile.
During the last years, Felipe has been involved in the development of new methodologies for water allocation in water-scarce regions by using hydrological, groundwater, and optimization models, together with a novel approach to dealing with uncertainty. He actively participates in research and consultancy projects for governmental and private clients abroad.
Felipe has been involved in the Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCAR) – Water Egypt and the Netherlands, both in the technical and in the coordination and management aspects.
