About Femke Bisschop
Femke is involved in projects at Deltares related to morphology, numerical modelling (Delft3D, SWAN), coastal erosion, seabed mobility (for offshore wind farms) and ports (sedimentation, wave forcing on vessels). She is particularly interested in numerical modelling and enjoys integrating the relevant hydrodynamic processes into the model setup. Additionally, she performed physical model experiments to determine wave forces (infragravity, low-frequency waves) acting on moored vessels in the nearshore area.
With a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s in Hydraulic Engineering, she has a strong grasp of the physical dynamics in coastal and offshore area. Her programming skills in MATLAB and Python enable her to effectively analyze and interpret data and model outcomes. In addition, Femke is the secretary of PIANC NL, contributing to the organization for knowledge exchange in the field of navigation, ports and waterways.
Outside Deltares, Femke is also involved as secretary at PIANC NL.
