About Iris Pit
Iris Pit has been working as a water quality researcher/advisor at Deltares. In this role, she focuses on the implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD), emissions of hazardous substances, and improving water quality in European river basin commissions such as the Rhine and Meuse.
With a strong background in environmental sciences and ecotoxicology, including a PhD and a prestigious Rubicon Fellowship, Iris has extensive experience in modelling environmental processes and analysing the impact of chemical substances on ecosystems. At Deltares, she combines her scientific expertise with practical advice to contribute to sustainable water management solutions.
In addition to her work on the WFD Explorer, she is involved in various projects related to water quality, such as mapping the emissions of anthropogenic substances.
