About Ivo Miltenburg
Ivo Miltenburg is a civil engineer, specialised in the application of ICT in water resources management. He has experience in designing, developing and implementing systems for operational water management, such as flood forecasting systems, water information systems, real-time control systems.
Since joining Deltares, Mr. Miltenburg has participated in many projects where the Delft-FEWS system was implemented or extended. In addition, Mr. Miltenburg has developed an expertise in the application of Real-Time Control aspects in watersystems, resulting in the role of Product Manager of the Deltares control software RTC-Tools. In projects from the east coast of Australia to the west coast of the United States of America, Mr. Miltenburg acts as project leader and consults clients on how to implement operational systems, always in relation to the client’s context.
Mr. Miltenburg is a member of the Crisis Alert Group – Rivers from Water Management Centre Netherlands of the Department of Waterways and Public Works, a team that is responsible for issuing the official forecasts for the Rhine and Meuse River in case of a high/low water crisis situation. The responsibilities also include issuing flood awareness forecasts for western Europe.
