About Mark Niesten

Mark is an experienced senior Project Manager and Landscape Architect specialised in strategic spatial planning and design. He has a thorough understanding of natural systems, integrated planning & design, climate adaptation and resiliency. Mark deploys his skills to create safe, attractive and resilient environments.

With over 15 years of international experience Mark delivers solutions on nature based spatial planning and design in which socio-economic, environmental and cultural values are connected with water management, climate adaptation and sustainability. He is strong in defining strategic goals and translating these into operational and implementable tasks. He has worked on a large number of integrated spatial planning & design projects, urban water strategies and master planning assignments. As project manager he has been responsible for delivering content and management of projects in The Netherlands, China, India, Southeast Asia, Middle-East, North-America and Central & Eastern Europe.

Mark is a rational thinker with a ‘down to earth’ attitude that results in a well-structured and pragmatic work approach. He is flexible and can easily adjust to new or changing circumstances. Within a group he contributes to a positive working atmosphere in which effective and productive work processes are stimulated and results are made.
