About Martha Dellar
Dr Martha Dellar is an expert in ecological modelling and in predicting the effects of climate change on ecological systems. During her PhD she investigated the effects of climate change on European pastures; she then spent several years looking into current and future mosquito-borne disease risk in the Netherlands. Martha now uses a range of modelling approaches to better understand a wide variety of ecological systems.
Martha's work predominantly contributes to the Deltares moonshot 'Healthy water and subsurface systems'. Her projects include modelling algal blooms in Dutch lakes and investigating pollutant concentrations in Dutch water systems. She is also the lead author of the Dutch One Health SSP scenarios, describing possible socio-economic futures for the Netherlands and their effects on the health of people, animals and the environment. She also works on projects further afield. For example, modelling the risk of E.Coli infections during flood events in Mozambique.
