About Menno de Ridder
Menno P de Ridder is a consultant/researcher in the Coastal Structures and Waves department at Deltares. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering from TU Delft and NUS Singapore specialising in coastal engineering and environmental fluid mechanics. He joined Deltares in 2018 and has worked on several projects related to wave modelling or wave hydrodynamics for both research projects and consulting projects for government and private clients.
In the projects, he has worked with the models SWAN, XBeach and the CFD model OpenFOAM for both detailed wave simulations and large-scale wave simulations for the North Sea. He has also worked on the wave separation method for wave flumes. Menno is currently working for 0.8 FE at TU Delft on his PhD on climate adaptation of breakwaters using shallow foreland.
