About Nick Leung
Nick Leung works at Deltares as a knowledge and innovation advisor. He holds a combined MSc in Biology (Aquatic Ecology & Water Quality) and Innovation & Technology Management from Radboud University Nijmegen. He is working on connecting research and application. Part of his work focuses on Deltares' research programming, specifically the SITO research with the Ministries of Economic Affairs & Climate and Infrastructure & Water Management. Another part is focused on innovations in the social and technological field, including themes such as dyke reinforcement, sustainability and digitalisation. His goal is to contribute to a more coherent research programme in which the necessary knowledge and innovations are further developed and implemented in practice to realise (more) societal impact with the Deltares research together with all its partners.
Over the years, he has contributed to the Knowledge and Innovation Agendas of the Top Sectors, has been involved in the programming of the Deltares Strategic Research, and leads several innovation programmes such as the Corporate Innovation Programme for Rijkswaterstaat (Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management).
In addition, Nick is coordinator of the TKI programme, in which public-private partnership (PPP) projects are set up in line with missions and societal challenges addressed by the Top Sectors and TKIs (top consortia knowledge and innovation). He is also engaged in research on innovation and implementation processes, and is involved in various activities related to idea generation, entrepreneurship, SMEs and startups.
