About Nova Huppes
In 2017, Nova graduated from Delft University of Technology in the field of hydraulic engineering and fluid mechanics. In her work, Nova has obtained a wide range of experience. She was involved in the design of the rehabilitated Afsluitdijk, and the assessment of multiple dykes. For example, between Koehool and Lauwersmeer, the Veerse Gatdam and the Brouwersdam. At Deltares, Nova leaded and executed research on placed block revetments involving fieldwork, desk studies as tests in our Delta Flume. Furthermore, she was the projectleader of the Delta Flume tests on the stability and wave response of Mangrove trees.
Nova works on the interaction between coastal structures and waves, such as breakwaters and dykes. In her work, she strives to connect multiple disciplines. In this role Nova is involved in various research projects, but also in the development of DiKErnel.
