About Pauline Overes
Pauline applies fundamental knowledge combined with state-of-the-art numerical models and data-analysis to gain understanding about the dynamics of the seabed. Through her PhD she has gained insight into the inner workings of sand waves, large-scale dynamic bedforms, and how these can be captured with numerical modelling.
Within her Deltares advisory and research role she has gained experience with data-analysis techniques for seabed dynamics. Especially the combination of these two methods - data-analysis and numerical modelling - makes for a strong pair which results in validated results that give insight into driving processes.
- Projects focussing on sand wave and sand bank dynamics using numerical modelling and data-analysis to aid offshore wind farm development and sand mining
- PhD Candidate at University of Twente on numerical modelling of sand wave dynamics (2021-present)
- Various publications on simulating sand wave dynamics (see Research Gate/Google Scholar)
