About Roel de Goede
Roel de Goede graduated as a Hydraulic Engineer (MSc.) from Delft University of Technology. In April 2020, Roel joined Deltares as an advisor/researcher in the department of Applied Morphodynamics. His work focusses mainly on modelling compound flooding and morphodynamics due to natural hazards, e.g. tropical cyclones.
Over the years, he has been involved in several national and international (e.g., Australia, Bangladesh, United States) projects and has gained a broad experience in the application of numerical models such as Delft3D, SFINCS and XBeach and the development of tools such as Delft Dashboard and HydroMT.
Nowadays, Roel is part of the SFINCS development team where he is actively involved in developing and validating the SFINCS model, developing and maintaining the HydroMT-SFINCS plugin (toolbox for pre- and postprocessing) and providing trainings (internally and externally).
