About Viviane Malveira Cavalcanti
Viviane is a climate adaptation economics and finance advisor with over nine years’ experience with project management and sustainable finance. Viviane has a proven track record in developing and delivering tailored training modules for accessing climate finance, notably from institutions such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and in evaluating business models for water supply solutions. At Deltares, she also analyzes water-related risks for institutional investors, promoting sustainable investment strategies that address water challenges and conduct socio-economic studies and vulnerability assessments for water security.
Viviane has extensive experience working with governments and the private sector. As an Impact Investing Program Manager at an investment consulting firm, she facilitated institutional investors' exploration of impact investment opportunities across various asset classes and SDGs targets. She mapped investors, reviewed investment products for compliance with sustainable development goals, and managed relationships within the sustainable finance ecosystem. Earlier in her career, Viviane served as an Environmental Project Manager for the State Government of Ceara, Brazil, where she managed large-scale projects. Her responsibilities included conducting environmental studies, presenting due diligence for financial institutions, and ensuring compliance with local and national regulations. This role equipped her with a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and the complexities of managing stakeholder relationships in the environmental sector.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineer from the Universidade Federal do Ceará, an MBA in Project Management (IBMEC) and a master’s degree in Environment and Resource Management from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
