About Yida Tao

Yida has been part of the Flood Defence Technology Department at Deltares since 2024. With an analytical mindset and a practical approach, she seeks optimal solutions for challenges in the field of flood defences. She is collaborative, curious, and creative. Furthermore, she enjoys automating processes and programming in Python. Yida's technical expertise is the failure mechanism of internal erosion (piping) and uplift. In her consultancy work on innovative projects, Yida is intrinsically motivated to incorporate sustainability themes such as circularity and spatial quality. In this way, she contributes to Deltares moonshot "Making the world's population safer from flooding".
