This study looked at the potential benefits of a global climate and hydrological model with very high resolution for representing the hydrological cycle in the Rhine and Mississippi basins. We conclude that raising the resolution of a Global Climate Model is the most straightforward way to obtain better precipitation, and therefore discharge, results, although this does depend on the climatic drivers of the basin.
