Hurricane Irma : impact-based forecasting put to the test

Deltares is working on new capabilities for impact-based forecasting, one of the requirements of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. We can now forecast water levels on coasts and discharges for rivers all over the world, but are we ready to warn people on the basis of the impacts on vital infrastructure? We conducted a real-time experiment to find out.
