Adequate cooling water is of key importance for nuclear and conventional power plants. In this project, we looked at the forces exerted on a submerged intake structure of a power plant during a tsunami and conducted highly detailed measurements which will be used for the validation of numerical models so that numerical models can be used as a design tool in the future.
