Serving the community : coastal and fluvial flood forecasting in eTheKwini (Kwazulu Nathal, South Africa)

The eTheKwini coastal municipality in South Africa has been adversely affected by both coastal and fluvial flooding. A Delft-FEWS based operational flood forecasting and warning system was developed to provide decision-makers with timely information about imminent events. The system went fully operational at eTheKwini municipality in mid-2017.
