To study the development of river landscapes as a result of plant-river interaction, a new model was developed that included dynamic interactions between river hydro-morphodynamics and riparian vegetation. This model was used to study the effects of invasive species, climate change, dam construction and river restoration on riparian vegetation patterns, river morphology and habitats of fluvial species.
