Geo Field Laboratory
Identifying actual soil behaviour and behaviour in the long term at the field scale is indispensable for the validation of numerical models, computing rules and structures in design and day-to-day conditions. Deltares has extensive experience with conducting field trials and setting up testing grounds for a range of geo-engineering subjects.
Generally, validation is also a question of upscaling from a small scale to the real-life scale. In line with this process, Deltares conducts experiments at the field scale, or monitors the actual behaviour of structures, or soil-structure interactions, for longer periods during the construction or operational phase.
