WANDA - Heat
With the Heat module, you can model and analyse a pipeline system for heat transport via liquid flow. This module allows you to model district heating networks and process industry piping, for which temperature and heat loss play an important role in the design of a pipeline system.
The WANDA Heat module is designed to calculate heat transfer and monitor the temperatures in a liquid system. In the WANDA Heat module the calculations are no longer performed in terms of heads and discharges, but in terms of mass flow rates, pressures and temperatures. The provided functionality within this module makes WANDA especially interesting for network operators of urban district heating systems and the process industry.
Library components
- Heat suppliers
- Heat exchangers
- Pumps
- Pipes
- Control valves
- Check valves
- Surge vessels
(Special) Features:
- Temperature dependent fluid properties
- Heat transport due to flow
- Heat transfer to and from the surroundings
- Heat transfer by dedicated components (heat exchangers)
- Heat generation by friction
WANDA Heat can also be used to design an anti-surge protection for district heating systems. Based on scenarios such as: pump trip, emergency shut down of control valves, or predefined closure patterns can be simulated. Since the temperature distribution in the system is taken into account, temperature dependent fluid properties are also used in the calculations. This improves the accuracy of simulation results for e.q. cavitation analysis.
