In this report, a new model has been developed (Delft3D-ASMITA), which simulates the evolution of tidal inlet systems due to sea level rise (SLR). The model is implemented in Delft3D. Equations similar to the ones in ASMITA define the sediment exchange between the bed and the water column, and ensure development of these systems towards morphodynamic equilibrium. The model was applied to two cases: one for the Ameland tidal inlet system and one for the entire Dutch Wadden Sea. The model results show expected trends, qualitatively comparable to similar simulations conducted with ASMITA models.
